There are 2 reasons why most people would choose to use a vacuum sealer. One is to save money that you would otherwise be throwing away once the food got spoiled, and the other is simply to save the planet’s resources. If you are a part of the 1st group, you will not want to spend that much money on a money-saving device. Still, you will want to use a vacuum sealer that actually gets the job done properly. So in that sense, in trying to find the best  vacuum sealer at the best price, your 1st choice should be the FoodSaver V3240 Vacuum Sealing System. It is 2 features that set it apart from most other products on the market. On the one hand it has 2 vacuum settings, one for bulky food like vegetables and meats, and the other one for softer things like tea leaves, flowers, and soft cheeses. The other interesting feature is the ability to detect moist versus dry food and to set the sealing elements to defend temperature settings according to the requirements. That is because you need to apply more heat sealed up wet package than a dry one, and applying too much on a dry package can result in overheating the plastic.

We honestly believe that the FoodSaver vacuum sealer we have talked about is the best option you currently have on the market. Still, there are better although more expensive options out there, and the Weston 65-0201 Pro-2300 Vacuum Sealer is the best of them all. It does cost a lot more than the FoodSaver, but it does have a lot more interesting features. In the 1st place it can do everything that the FoodSaver can do, but it does it better. It has a double piston vacuum pump so it can actually suck a lot more air when creating the vacuum. It needs that extra strong pump because these is the only vacuum sealer on our list that can actually seal a 15 inch bag. Furthermore it has a dedicated cooling system for the motor so that you can keep on sealing bag after bag and not worry about overheating problems. Finally, you can switch between manual and automatic mode, so you can determine in your own level of heat and suction that you want to have applied.

One of the biggest problem most people have with modern kitchen gadgets is precisely where to put them. That is why even though the FoodSaver V3240 has more options and features many will prefer to buy the FoodSaver GameSaver Deluxe because it has a much smaller footprint. That is not to say that the GameSaver Deluxe is not an excellent vacuum sealer, only that it does not have that double piston pump, and it is generally intended more as a hunter’s or fisherman’s aid. It is the perfect choice if you have a hunting lodge or you drive the trailer to a fishing area. Its automatic sealing system is great for those type of situations because you do not need to use your hands to work the machine so you can focus on the meat.

4. Nesco VS-02 Food Vacuum Sealer

If you are looking for even cheaper and smaller vacuum sealer your best choice will be the Nesco VS-02 Food Vacuum Sealer. The biggest and only difference between it and the GameSaver, is the fact that it does not have a low temperature setting. Instead it has a normal setting plus an extended seal time for thicker bags or wet foods. It is definitely not as easy to use in a hunting lodge situation, but it can be a cute little gadget to have on your kitchen top when you need to save a quality bag of coffee from getting oxidized or even for portioning whatever meets or cheese you may have bought in bulk.

The guys from FoodSaver also have come up with what we can only call an entry-level vacuum sealer. It is the smallest one yet, and it can be a little bit more difficult to operate. Still, you can have this store away on the top shelf and only bring it up every once in a while. Considering its extremely low price you can afford to have this as a kitchen toy. It does do a good job of sealing any type of bag, and its vacuum pump is quite strong. It is definitely not our 1st choice, but it will make an excellent choice for someone who is not that much into vacuum sealing, or who needs a really cheap alternative to the otherwise pricey vacuum sealers we have been talking about.
